About the client!
Our client is a pioneering startup with a remarkable mission developing systems and technologies to incentivize doctors to prioritize preventive healthcare, exemplifying the principles of Value-Based Care. Given the complexity of their solution, they sought a healthcare-focused software development team, and our expertise aligned seamlessly with their requirements.
Development methodology
For most healthcare-focused development teams, we prefer an Agile-Waterfall hybrid model. Using Agile methodology allows for quick iteration and the ability to adapt to a changing market, while the waterfall approach helps manage regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA compliance in this case. The Agile process, augmented by Agile best practices and team discipline, along with project management tools like ClickUp, helps create a transparent atmosphere where the status of everything can be tracked in real-time by authorized personnel. We offer our own custom ClickUp templates to automate business requirement gathering and bug management capabilities.

Regulatory requirements
The main regulatory requirements were for HIPAA compliance since part of the platform deals with real patient data. The main concerns were:
1. Transport, backup, and storage encryption
2. Identity and access management
3. Integrity of data when dealing with protected health information (PHI)
